- If you are looking for how to deliver eSIMs from WooCommerce, check our post on eSIM delivery.
Process Overview
- The import process involves two parts:
- Part 1: Imports general product information like short descriptions, long descriptions, tags, categories, and SKUs.
- Part 2: Imports variations of the eSIMs, including specific data plans users can purchase (requires SKUs from eSIM Access).
Reference Documentation: Product CSV Importer and Exporter
Importing Part 1: General Product Information
- Preparation:
- It’s recommended to start with a blank WooCommerce installation for clarity.
- Download CSV:
- Download the part one CSV file from the eSIM Access website.
- Import CSV into WooCommerce:
- Go to the WooCommerce page and click Import
- Select the downloaded CSV file.
- The import will automatically map the data based on column headers. You can go through them individually to make sure they are mapped correctly. Once satisfied, click “Run the importer” and wait for it to finish the activity.
- Review Imported Products:
- Verify that the import includes flags, product names, descriptions, tags, categories, and SKUs. You can view details of any of the products and verify the short description, long description etc.
- The SKUs in this part are irrelevant to eSIM Access but are used for variations. To address this issue, we will have to import the CSV file part two which is covered in the next section.
Importing Part 2: eSIM Variations
- Download CSV:
- Download the part two CSV file, which contains variations with SKUs for ordering from eSIM Access.
- Import CSV into WooCommerce:
- Go to WooCommerce > Import again.
- Select the downloaded part two CSV file.
- As before, the import will automatically map the data based on column headers. You can go through them individually to make sure they are mapped correctly. Once satisfied, click “Run the importer” and wait for it to finish the activity.
- Review Imported Products:
- After the import, you’ll see that all products now have a price range due to the variations.
- Variations might not be displayed in the correct order. We’ll address this in the next step.
Customizing Products
- Reordering Variations (Optional):
- If the variations are not in the desired order, you can edit them individually in WooCommerce.
- The SKU (slug) is the most important element for eSIM Access to process orders. You can click edit for any of the variations to see the SKU or slug.
- Edit Product Details (Optional):
- You can edit descriptions, prices, and other product information for both the main product and variations.
Conclusion
- By following these steps, you’ve successfully imported eSIM Access product data with variations and prices into your WooCommerce store.
- You can further customize the products with additional categories, SEO information, and more.
